PLEASE READ THIS FORM THOROUGHLY & SIGN TO SAY YOU UNDERSTAND THE
RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH HORSE RIDING & CARE BEFORE RETURNING YOUR FORM.
Booking
Fees:
12 month BHSPI £100;
4-9 month course £250; Others
(inc. holiday courses) £50
Riding is recognised
as a high risk sport so it is thoroughly recommended that you take out your own
personal accident insurance. Although we have taken every precaution we can to
minimise the associated risks horses are still unpredictable animals so please
take care and accept that accidents do happen!
If
you are on a holiday course your horse will be tacked up and brought to the
front of the office for you. For Health & Safety reasons please either wait
for your horse to be presented or complete an induction (the office will
arrange) before collecting, tacking up or untacking your horse. Students and
those on probationary week will be inducted before commencing their course and
working on the yard or riding.
Clients
are always very welcome to help in any way on the yard but please ensure you
have been inducted by a member of our staff before doing so and we recommend you
have adequate personal accident insurance. Your choice to ride or help on the
yard is voluntary so please accept that you do so at your own risk and do not
hold The Talland School of Equitation or its employees responsible for
accidental damage or injury (excluding accidents caused by negligence).
Again
for Health & Safety reasons we recommend that clients do not wear jewellery
whilst riding or handling horses and that long hair should be tied back. Please
wear a correctly fitted hat, and securely fastened chinstrap, to current
standards (we can hire you one if yours is out of date). We recommend you wear
gloves and either breeches, jodhpurs or jogging trousers, as jeans can cause
uncomfortable rubs. Footwear should be jodhpur boots, long boots or if you
dont have these yet a pair of boots or shoes with a flat sole (not
wellingtons as the soles too ridged) and a small block heel (not trainers as
they are too flat) will be fine. We have a small collection of boots we can lend
if you have nothing suitable (please ask your instructor or at the office). We
also suggest that body protectors are worn.
We regret that we cannot refund any monies for whatever reason so please ensure you are insured against loss of fees due to cancellation or early termination of your course. Booking fees for holiday courses will be deducted from the total amount payable and student booking fees will be refunded on completion of course. Please note however booking fees from those in Talland accommodation will be treated as accommodation deposits and will be retained should breakages occur or should the accommodation be deemed by Talland staff to be in an unfit state.
Thank
you for your co-operation
I
have read and understood the above statement and accept the risks associated
with riding horses and helping/working on the yard I agree to be responsible to
the yard manager and all at The Talland School of Equitation and will abide at
all times by his/her rules.
