News & what’s going on

IT Exam 13th November 2014

Due to demand we will be teaching every evening Monday – Friday at 6.15 .  All abilites, ages and levels welcome!  Call us here at Talland on 01285 740155 to book your space before they all get snapped up.

If a dressage lesson doesn’t tempt you then take advantage of Talland’s 120 acres and bombproof horses and come for a leisurely hack with beautiful views.  Here’s Abi enjoying a hack in the late summer sun!view

We’re on the lookout for advanced schoolmasters to join us!  If you’ve got a retired PSG+ horse you’re not sure what to do with, give us a call!

We have partnered up with the BEF and are working with them to run their Take Back the Reins course.  Starting on Thursday 6th November and running for six weeks, we will be  running a ‘Ladies That Lunch’ beginners riding club,  which will run from 12:30 to 14:30.  In addition we will be running an adults’ evening course to start on Friday 31st October from 18:15 to 20:15.  Both courses offer light refreshments,  a lecture/discussion and a riding lesson every week, resulting in a rosette and certificate at the end of the course.  We think this is a fantastic initiative for getting you ex-riders out there back in the saddle!  For more info and to book, give us a call on 01285 740155.

Talland has had one of the most intense competition seasons in many years and it is still not over yet!  We have had 7 students out competing at dressage and show jumping over the last few months – most of which has been on Talland horses.

Talland is now the proud base for 5 International dressage riders who between them represent 3 different countries. Charlie, Pippa and Johnny Clarke-West  have been flying the GB flag this season, Vivian has been having a successful season for her native Taiwan ahead of the Asian Games this year and Abi is representing her native Ireland with one of Pammy’s horses.

On top of that we have Danish rider Anne-Marie and her beautiful horse Teddy who have been riding at Premier League PSG, and Elizabeth Allen has been at Premier League with several rides with year.

Talland has always supported the progression of its riders and competition riding is key to cementing quickness and effectiveness!

We also must mention Pammy’s great season so far with Abira! Try to get to watch them in a test some time, you will never see better test riding from Pammy, and in Abira you will see a horse who truly loves his job!

Livery owner Vivian Chang represented her home country Taiwan in the 17th Asian Games in Incheon.  She achieved team Bronze and was the highest placed rider on the team, and came 11th in the Individual.  Amazing results Vivian, we’re all very proud of you!

Talland student Elizabeth Allen has had a cracking year with her horse Don Dellero (Lexi), qualifying for the Area Festival finals at the Winter Champs in April at Advanced Medium (restricted).  She is also through to the semi-finals of the Young Professionals Award with Richard Davison.  Well done Elizabeth!!

Elizabeth and Lexi – smiles all round!

Charlie has had two brilliant Internationals and was top Brit at Hartpury and Hickstead CDI’s on Douglas IV, and won all three Small Tour classes.  Charlie was also well placed at Royal Windsor and at HOYS on Judy Peploe’s Super Blue (Pepe) with fantastic results across the board.  Well done Charlie – obviously hosting your mother’s winning gene!  Charlie is building up a really strong base of clients of all abilities and at all levels which he loves – so book yourself in fast!

Massive congratulations to the Italian Pony Eventing Team who secured a team bronze Medal at the European Championships last week at Millstreet. Matteo Guidicci, one of the team members who was individual 5th had his dressage training from Pammy. Matteo calls Pammy his ‘special and great Dressage coach’ and comments that she always helps his reach the results.

Well done to him and Pammy, and we shall look forward to seeing him when he joins us here at Talland in the Winter for some intensive training!
